Outlook Login Sign in

If you have a create Hotmail account, you use the same details to access your outlook account.

  1. Go to the Official website. Click on Outlook login sign in and you will be directed to the sign in page.
  2. Enter your email address; if you already use SkyDrive or use a Windows phone then you will use the same email address to log in.
  3. Enter the password; just like the email address you can use the same password you use when logging in to the other Microsoft powered services.
  4. Click on sign in.
  5. On the Outlook sign in page you will see the ‘keep me signed in’ tab. Check that if you are using your Personal Computer. The option is only active for 2 weeks. You will be required to log in again after that.

Unlike the other email service providers, when you are logging in to your outlook account using a shared computer, you don’t have to use your password. You can request the single code that you use instead of your password. The code is only valid for one log in and it stays active for only 15 minutes. You will be required to request a new code very time you want to log in. There is a limit to the number of codes you can receive per day. To request the code simply;

  1. Go to the Outlook login page. Choose the ‘ sign in with a single code
  2. You will be directed to a new page where you will be required to enter your email address
  3. Enter your phone number; this is the primary phone number that is linked to your email address. You will be required to select your regions code from the list. One thing you have to know is that the single code is not applicable in all locations.
  4. Click on the ‘text me the code’. If you already have the code then click on the ‘already have a code’ option
  5. You will be required to enter the code you received on the spaces together with your email address to log in.

Outlook is the first web based email service provider in the world. It was started back in 1996 as Hotmail and later acquired by Microsoft in 1997. Due to the increased competition from the other email service providers especially Gmail, Microsoft decided to add new features so as to keep up with the competition. Later they changed the name from Hotmail to Outlook to signify the improvement. Some of the features that were introduced were; the Skype integration which is a feature that allows you to communicate with your friends via Skype. Another great feature is the ability to read and edit documents online without downloading them. With the quick view and click on filters features you can filter all your emails, attached documents and files and many more. For you to get to enjoy all these features, you will have to log in to your outlook account.
